LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE ROUTINE: YOUR SECRET TO BETTER RESULTS

Wake up with puffy eyes? Face feeling congested and bunged up? This two-minute routine will change how your face looks and feels. And if you’re having injectables or investing in skincare, this is non-negotiable for better results. Best of all, it’s free.

WHAT IS THE LYMPHATIC SYSTEM?

Your lymphatic system is your body’s drainage network. It clears out waste, toxins, and excess fluid. But, it doesn’t have a pump. It relies on movement to function. When it’s sluggish, you get puffiness, dullness, and that heavy, congested feeling in your face.

WHY IT MATTERS FOR AGEING & INJECTABLES

As we age, lymphatic drainage naturally slows down. That’s part of why we lose that lifted, fresh look. Add in stress, lack of sleep, alcohol, salty foods, or even just gravity — fluid sits in your face instead of draining away. If you’re having anti-wrinkle injections, those muscles aren’t pumping fluid away like they used to, so puffiness can build up around the eyes. With dermal fillers, the product can temporarily compress lymphatic pathways, causing swelling. Supporting your lymphatic system reduces this, speeds up recovery, and allows everything to settle beautifully. This takes two minutes but the difference it makes is real.

THE TECHNIQUE

I always start at the collarbone — this is your drainage point. Everything we do is directing fluid back here.

Light pressure under the armpits to activate those nodes.

Now the neck — always downward strokes toward the collarbone.

Jawline — sweep from chin to ear. This is where we hold so much tension and fluid.

Around the ears, gently pressing those nodes.

Then for the eyes, using light pressure from the inner corner .

The three key points — inner eye, mid-cheek then near the nasolabial fold, and orbital rim. I then move this fluid from the inside of the eye outwards towards the temples. Working upwards along the orbital rim, pushing the fluid outwards

Forehead — upward then out to the temples.

These are major drainage sites.

Hairline and around the head — following that natural flow of the lymphatic system.

Down the back of the neck — the one place that’s often forgotten but so important.

And finish where we started — back to the collarbone, completing the circuit.

GUA SHA

If you want to take this further, using a gua sha tool take these results to the next level . The gentle pressure and gliding motion moves lymphatic fluid even more effectively. After dermal filler, once any initial swelling has settled, regular gua sha helps the product integrate beautifully and prevents fluid from building up around the treatment area. This is a game-changer to optimise your results.

GIVE IT SOME SUPPORT

Your lymphatic system is working for you 24/7 — give it some support. This will help you look less puffy, more lifted, and feel more energized. Whether you’re maintaining injectable results or just want to look more refreshed naturally, small habits create big results.

WHY IN THE SHOWER

I do mine in the shower because the warmth opens everything up, the steam helps, and honestly? It’s the one time I’m already touching my face. It becomes part of your routine, not another thing on your list. Consistency over perfection.
