What is dry skin?
Dry skin appears as flaky, rough-looking skin, often feeling tight, itchy and uncomfortable. It can be both a temporary and lifelong condition, depending on your skin type and how it is managed.
What causes dry skin?
Your skin type can be naturally dry and so will require more hydration than other skin types, and dry skin can be made worse by things like ageing, harsh soaps and skincare, as well as hot baths and indoor heating. There are certain skin conditions that can cause dry skin, too, such as psoriasis and eczema.
What treatments are available?
Medical Grade Skin Care routine that is specifically tailored to the type condition you are suffering from. These are medication remedies prescribed for not only sun damaged skin but also skin exfoliation and cleansing. Their key ingredients usually comprise of Vitamin A and its derivatives to repair the skin on a cellular level. Microneedling, chemical peels, skin boosters and profhilo are the best ways to approach dry skin. Microneedling and chemical peels help to promote exfoliation of the top layer of damaged skin, and encourage the production of collagen and elastin to help the skin to renew – and hydrate – itself. These treatments can be used in conjunction with a medical-grade, hydrating skincare for best results.
The Little Clinic also offers injectable hyaluronic acid treatments, which hydrate and deeply moisturise your skin, making it look more youthful and glowy.
