What is rosacea?
Rosacea is a very common chronic skin condition. It’s most often characterised by facial flushing, redness and in some more severe cases, visible bumps and pimples.
What causes rosacea?
Rosacea is a complex skin condition, and the exact cause isn’t known. However, we do know that both genetics and environmental factors play a part.
Skin irritants, sun exposure, stress, alcohol and caffeine consumption, as well as a diet of things like dairy products and spicy food, can all aggravate rosacea and cause flare ups. Although there is no cure for rosacea at this moment in time, treatment can help to control and manage the symptoms.
.
What treatments are available?
A regular medical-grade routine skincare is key here, individually prescribed to include specific ingredients to help control rosacea. Microneedling sessions and chemical peel treatments can then be combined with your skincare to make your skin healthy, vibrant and more equipped to heal itself.
How long do dermal fillers last?
Dermal fillers can last anywhere between 9 to 18 months. This usually depends on the type of filler injected, the amount of filler used and the area of the face being treated. It is also affected by how quickly your body naturally breaks down the filler, which will vary from person to person. During our consultation, we can discuss this in detail, taking into consideration your specific needs.
Do dermal fillers have any side effects?
Dermal fillers are minimally invasive and most people can return to their normal life immediately after treatment. However, all treatments pose some risk; the common side effects are redness, swelling and bruising. Allergic reactions are very rare but can occur. If you suffer from cold sores, please let me know before your appointment as it is advisable to start preventive medication before treatment.
Will I look “plastic” or “overdone”?
